Floods Cause Disaster on South Coast - Port Shepstone
Urgent news / warning! Reports are coming in about flooding all over the South Coast. Areas already reported include:
- Port Shepstone Country Club (Umtentweni)
- Rathboneville garage (Zebra garage in Oslo beach)
- Sasol garage / Crossroads cafe (Margate)
- a low road in Margate extension 3
- Uvongo bridge
The back roads are passable for some vehicles (bakkies), but should not be attempted unless absolutely necessary.
Warining: Roads are very dangerous in heavy rains! There are not only seen dangers (water puddles, other accidents, pedestrians, etc) but there are also unseen dangers (fast growing potholes, sinkholes, hidden object) and with reduced visibility it is not advisable to take any chances.
